Baul are a group of mystic minstrels from Bengal. Bauls constitute both a syncretic religious sect and a musical tradition. Baul Sangeet, a particular type of folk song, celebrates celestial love through declarations of love by the Baul for his bosh-tomi or life-mate. Essentially an oral tradition, its lyrics carry influences of the Hindu bhakti movements and the suphi, a form of Sufi song exemplified by the songs of Kabir.Track Information : Rakhite Narili Premojol - Baul Gaan by Lakshman Das Baul and Group at Joydeb Mela, West Bengal.Performer(s) : Lakshman Das Baul and GroupCollection : Baul Archives
